Mr. Danny Lee McCallie

Danny Lee McCallie, 58, of Manila, Arkansas was found Monday, February 28, 2022. Danny was born and raised in Manila, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father Edward McCallie. Danny is survived by his daughter Stephanie Polston and granddaughter Erin McCallie of Manila; mother Melba McCallie of Manila; three brothers Ricky (Dolores) McCallie, Eddie (Chassity) McCallie and Robert McCallie all of Manila; He is also survived by nieces, nephews and many life long friends. Danny was a talented mechanic for many years at Jackson Lions Station where he befriended dozens of customers and often performed personal favors at the drop of a hat for many. He had a heart of gold. He loved life, but more importantly, Danny loved his family and friends and was always available for them. No matter what the need, however great or small, he was always there to help or lend a hand. His family would like to speak the truth about his death. Silence would mean Danny's death was in vain, but if one person's life is saved by his story, it’s worth it. We know the pain of his suffering. We know the pain of our own suffering as his family, and we know there are other people here in our community suffering as addicts or as loved ones to them. Speaking the truths (no matter the circumstances) surrounding the epidemic of drug use may be the difference between life and death for someone. In honor of Danny's life, we ask that truth be spread in regards to this epidemic and awareness be raised. Danny was kind, funny, selfless, and always tried to find the positive in any situation. In turn, doing his best to block out the negatives, which is where his addiction came into play. Drugs offered Danny an escape from his demons he faced throughout his life. Right here in small town USA is heroin laced with fentanyl. To anyone facing this demon, every time you inject, snort or smoke you are playing Russian Roulette with your life. As you hold it in your hand make certain you are ready to meet your maker. Danny’s life will be honored in the coming days. Arrangements will be posted when final.
