Ms. Deshawn Deniese Williams

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Deshawn "MAMA D" Williams, a caring, sharing, and full of life individual. Deshawn was born on March 12, 1972, and departed this life on April 18, 2025. She was known by many as Dontcha but preferred the name Deshawn. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Deshawn is survived by her son, Zachery Williams and daughter ChandlerJones; sisters, Belinda Franks, Sherry Filadelphia, and Terri McClafferty; father Bill and Gay Williams; a slew of Aunts, Uncles and cousins, and plenty more. Step-daughter, Alycia Hendrix; Tiffany/Billy Rofe; and spouse, Charles Jones/Gloria Ponder. Her personal family friends include but not limited to Jaron Collins, Jill Jone's Hardin/Paul Hardin; and Vickie Miller(Ronnie Kirkpatrick) and Etta Samantha White. She was a proud graduate of East Poinsett County School District in Lepanto, AR in 1990 and went on to create a beautiful family with the birth of her children in 1992 and 1997. In 2000, she married her loving husband Charles Jones. Her favorite foods included the #3 from Sonic, and she loved sipping on Dr. Peppers. Deshawn enjoyed listening to the song "Alone" by Jelly Roll and watching the TV show 911. The Wizard of Oz was her all-time favorite movie. Sleeping was both her favorite recreational activity and a unique way for her to exercise. The color green held a special place in her heart. Deshawn's personality was vibrant and uplifting. She taught important life lessons such as "Just because you see it, don't mean it's real." She was exceptionally proud of her children, family, and friends. Deshawn's legacy will forever be one of embracing individuality, staying true to oneself, and keeping one's head held high in the face of adversity. Even in the toughest moments, Deshawn always managed to keep a smile on her face. Her greatest goal and achievement was to make sure she atleast made 1 person smile/happy. If she succeeded by end of day then she did the job she set off to do. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Don't worry she will be back as a heavy believer in reincarnation. In honoring Deshawn’s wishes there will be a private family memorial at a later date so expressions of sympathy should be sent directly to the family.
