Ms. Glenda Lee Sheppard

Glenda Lee Sheppard, 73, passed away peacefully on Monday January 13, 2025 at her home in Caraway with her family by her side. She was one of 18 children born to the late Oscar and Tommie (Meeker) Sheppard. Glenda was a special, one-of-a-kind woman, who commanded attention with everyone she encountered. She was a beautiful woman with a wacky sense of humor and an appreciation of the absurd that endeared her to everyone. She was full of piss and vinegar and everyone who knew Glenda could attest to her feisty spirit! In her life, she endured much hardship and heartbreak, but her indomitable spirit always prevailed. Her love for her family never diminished. She was quick-witted and good-humored. She enjoyed fishing, being in the woods, and walking for miles. She loved sunrises, yellow roses and fresh tomatoes picked from the vine. Glenda was a woman of strong convictions who always spoke her mind and lived her life on her terms. She could be hard, but was never hard-hearted. Her family, especially her grandchildren, held her heart. She taught her children what a strong work ethic looks like, how women can do anything they set their minds to, all about the great outdoors, the ins and outs of being “stubborn as a pig and tough as nails” and most importantly to her, how to cast a line and catch a fish. Glenda was a loving mom, grandma and friend and while she often gave a piece of her mind, she always kept us close at heart. She will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by one son Micheal Sheppard; her parents Oscar and Tommie (Meeker) Sheppard; three siblings Wanda Mae Kidd, Carl Francis Sheppard and James Borrow. Glenda leaves behind two daughters Michelle (James) Parrott of Gosnell, Arkansas and Cindy (Anselmo) Picon of Caraway, Arkansas; Seven grandchildren Shanea Sheppard, Allison Dzurney, Marcos Sheppard, Luis Tosca, Mariah Tosca, Ana Tosca and Jersey Picon; Seven great grandchildren Elena Turner, Theodore Dzurney, Payton Sheppard, Wyatt Sheppard; Chloe Wren, Charles Crowe IV and Weston England; Six siblings Charles Sheppard, Mildred Collins, Sharon Gann, Lupe Sheppard, Nute Sheppard and David Sheppard along with many neices, nephews and life long friends. In honoring Glenda's wishes there will be a private family celebration at a later date so expressions of sympathy should be sent directly to the family.
