Mr. Joseph Charles Hamm

Joseph Charles Hamm, 50, of Dell, Arkansas, died unexpectedly on April 19, 2026. He was born September 18, 1975, in Wahiawa, Hawaii, to Edward and Rita (Morse) Hamm. Because his father served in the military, Joseph moved often as a child before making his home in Arkansas. He graduated from Blytheville High School in 1994 and went on to build a successful career as a heavy equipment operator with EDW C. Levy, proudly serving Big River Steel in Osceola, Arkansas. Joseph was a devoted husband, provider, brother, grandfather, and friend. He and Misty Dawn Hall were classmates, but their love story began in 2004. From that time forward, they were inseparable. They made their home together in Dell, Arkansas sharing more than 22 years of love, laughter, and life together. Joseph was truly a big kid at heart. He loved zoos, amusement parks, and roller coasters, with Dollywood holding a special place as his favorite getaway. He enjoyed playing games with family and friends, and those who knew him best will smile remembering that he could be a card-game cheater and a sore loser—always in a way that brought laughter and lasting memories. He had an old soul and a deep love for classic country music, especially the sounds of George Jones, Hank Williams, and Waylon Jennings. Joseph found joy in the simple things—dragonflies, nature, four-wheelers, gardening, and trying to make things grow. He also had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his two rescue dogs, Remi Moo, his German Shepherd, and Marley, his little “Heinz 57.” Life with Joseph was always an adventure, filled with laughter. Above all, Joseph loved his family. He cherished his mother deeply, and her passing the year prior was a loss he carried with him every day. He was raised by a good woman who raised a good man—one who worked hard, loved deeply, and gave his best to those who depended on him. His granddaughter, Kenzley Forsythe, was the love of his life. She was truly his everything, and the bond they shared was one of the greatest joys of his life. Joseph is survived by his wife Misty Dawn Hamm of Dell, Arkansas; his stepson, Zachary Forsythe of Cooter, Missouri; his beloved granddaughter, Kenzley Forsythe; his brother, James Hamm and wife Bonnie of Vinton, Virginia; his mother-in-law, Paula Hall of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; his sister-in-law, Mary Hall of Blytheville, Arkansas; his nephews, Eli Morse, Eric Hamm, and Marcus Hamm, all of Virginia; his beloved dogs, Remi Moo and Marley; and special friends, Kim Wells, Leigh Ann Cross, Tiffany and Chance Hoskins, and Mr. Percy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Rita (Morse) Hamm; his grandparents, Louise and Nona Faye Hamm; his father-in-law, Wayne Hall; and his close friend, Mario Coronado. Joseph’s life ended far too soon, but the love he gave, the laughter he created, and the memories he leaves behind will remain with those who loved him forever. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Joseph’s life will be held on May 3, 2026, at the Dell Community Center with visitation from 2:00 to 3:30 PM and service beginning at 3:30 PM with Mitchell King officiating.
