Mrs. Joy Denise Dulaney

Joy Denise Dulaney, 57, of Manila, Arkansas, passed away on March 30, 2026. She was born on December 3, 1968, and was raised in Monette, Arkansas, where she attended high school and built the foundation of the strong, independent woman so many came to know and love. Joy was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Goldie Sims, and her sister, Sheila Sims. She leaves behind her best friend and soulmate of over 24 years, Larry Martin of Manila, Arkansas. She is also survived by her two sons, Lonnie Dulaney and his wife, Peyton, of Lake City, Arkansas, and Denver Dulaney of Manila, Arkansas; her stepdaughter, Vanessa Martin of Manila, Arkansas; and her beloved grandchildren, Vivian Felix and Deliah Martin. Joy is also survived by her siblings: Paul Lancaster of Monette, Arkansas; Jackie Sims and his wife, Melissa, of Monette, Arkansas; Sandra Follett of Ripley, Mississippi; and Ronnie Sims of Bay, Arkansas. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many lifelong friends who were like family to her. Joy worked for over 10 years at Frolic Footwear in Monette before later following her independent spirit and opening her own business, Used Furniture Plus, in Manila. She had a personality that could light up any room. Joy loved to talk, laugh, and connect with people. She enjoyed cooking—though she would quickly tell you she loved eating even more—and she never met a cup of coffee she didn’t like, often enjoying it throughout the day. She had a true passion for creativity. Whether it was crafting, restoring antiques, or treasure hunting through storage units, Joy found joy in bringing new life to old things. She loved collecting knickknacks of all kinds, especially eagles, bears, and boats—each one holding its own special place in her heart. Joy was a great listener, someone people could turn to without judgment. Though she was a private person, she loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She was especially proud of her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her. In honoring her wishes, there will be a private family celebration held at a later date so expressions of sympathy should be sent directly to the family. Her presence, her laughter, and her love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
