Ms. Kathy Ann Ridgeway

Kathy Ann (Bryant) Ridgeway, born July 15, 1955, in Centralia, IL, was tragically taken from us on August 7, 2025, in a car accident. Kathy was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, whose vibrant spirit touched everyone she met. Kathy is survived by her daughters Jayme McClain O'Renic, Amanda McClain, son Mike McClain II, and daughter-in-law Anh Le-McClain. She was a cherished grandmother to Audrey O'Renic, Noah O'Renic, Chris Halley, Ellanor McClain, and Finnian McClain, and will be deeply missed by her loyal dog Sandy. She was predeceased by her father, Herschel Bryant, her mother, Florence Bryant, and her brother, David Bryant. Kathy’s passing leaves a gap not only in the hearts of her immediate family but also in the lives of her extended family, including her former husband, Denis Ridgeway. Married for nearly 20 years, their bond remained strong, and they continued to care deeply for one another. Denis and his family were an important part of Kathy's life, and they will always hold a place in the legacy she leaves behind. An avid dog lover, Kathy found joy in her beloved pets and even created a dog clothing and accessory business that she poured her heart into. She was an accomplished crafter, always busy making thoughtful gifts and projects for her family, friends, and dogs. Kathy was a dedicated fan and collector of Wizard of Oz memorabilia. She loved listening to the Beatles and seeing Beatles tribute bands. She recently moved to Blytheville, AR, to be closer to her lifelong friend, Pam Boettcher, whose family, Ron, Misty, and Cameron, welcomed Kathy as one of their own. Kathy’s love for her ‘adopted’ family, friends, and her biological family was immeasurable, and her impact will be felt deeply by all who knew her. Kathy’s love, laughter, and creativity will forever be remembered. May her spirit continue to inspire and bring warmth to all who were fortunate to know her. We ask that you remember her not for the way her life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Celebration of Life plans will be announced in the future. The family requests memorials be made to Belleville Humane Society (include Kathy Ridgeway in the donor note) in lieu of flowers.
