Leslie C. Nance, 78, of Keiser, Arkansas passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at Saint Francis Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Born on April 4, 1947, in New Hampshire, Leslie later grew up in San Jose, California, where the foundation of her warm and loving spirit first began to shine. In 1966, love led her to Arkansas when a country boy stole her heart. There she built the life she treasured most — one centered around faith in family, shared meals, laughter, and unconditional love. Leslie was a woman who never met a stranger. Her smile welcomed everyone, her kindness made people feel at ease, and her home was a place where family always came first. She believed that life’s greatest moments were the simple ones — a full dinner table, stories shared late into the evening, and the comfort of being surrounded by those she loved. She worked many years at the shoe factory in Manila and later at American Greetings, always known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature. Even later in life, Leslie enjoyed staying active and social as a hostess at McDonald’s, where her warm personality made lasting impressions on so many old and new friends. Leslie found joy in life’s little pleasures — an ice-cold Diet Coke never far from her hand, a good book waiting nearby, and quiet moments spent tending to her FarmVille world. She loved deeply and without hesitation, especially cherishing the bond she shared with her son-in-law, Johnny, whom she loved as her own. Though life’s journey brought its share of changes, Leslie’s heart always belonged to one true love — her soulmate, Ronnie J. Nance, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Walter Sr. and Eileen (Stoodley) Cleverly; her brother, Walter “Skip” Cleverly; and her cherished cat, Tiger. Left to carry forward her legacy of love are her daughter, Jenny (Johnny) Barton of Keiser, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Pamela (Zachery) Carroll of Osceola, Arkansas, and Glenna (Steven) Myrick of Dyess, Arkansas; and her precious great-grandchildren, Zoey-Kay and Benjamin — each a beautiful reflection of the love she poured into her family. Leslie’s life was not measured in grand achievements, but in quiet acts of love — in meals prepared, laughter shared, hands held, and the countless ways she made others feel valued and at home. Her presence was a gift, her love a blessing, and her memory a treasure that will remain forever. Per Mom's wishes, a private family celebration will be held at a later date.
