Ms. Mary Lee Langston

Mary Lee Langston (77) of Hoxie, AR, passed from this life on November 14, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR with her loving family by her side. She was one of eleven children born to Lee and Juanita Stayton. She grew up working in the cotton fields of Light, AR with her brothers and sisters. They shared memories of traveling by wagon, working at the sawmill, picking cotton and swimming in the the Cache River. Our family was poor but we didn’t know it. We were so happy and rich in so many ways because of the strength and bond of our family. Our parents instilled in us courage, fierce work ethic, and optimism for our future. Mary began her professional career as a seamstress for the dress factory. She also spent many years sewing at Golf Bag and later retired from Sun Industries in Jonesboro. Throughout her lifetime Mary touched a lot of hearts and impressed a lot of people. She loved to laugh. Her loved ones will always remember the sound of her laughter and her bright smile. Her daily phone calls will be longed for. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. She put her whole heart into all she did with relentless strength and perseverance. Mary enjoyed going to yard sales and the Home Shopping Network. If ask, she could tell you everything listed on HSN for sale on any given day. The only time we ever saw her unhappy was when she went for a ride on a motorcycle with her grandson Thomas. For both Thomas and Mary, it was a ride to remember. She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Juanita (Brown) Stayton; three brothers Cleo Stayton, Bill Stayton and Tom Stayton; and two sisters Emma Kay Bohnstengel and Carolyn Sue Hankins. Mary leaves behind her son Gregg (Angelia) Langston of Hoxie, AR; six grandchildren Thomas (Stacy) Liscomb and Ryan Langston both of Weiner, AR, Nina Langston of Maynard, AR, Haley Langston, Spencer Langston and Nathan Langston all of Hoxie, AR; four great grandchildren Alexis Langston, Brynlee Langston, Liam Langston and Charlscie Langston; two brothers Eddie (Patty) Stayton of Gravette, AR and Jim Stayton of West Plains, MO; three sisters Wanda (Mike) Deegan of Pryor, OK, Geraldine (Clark) Gatewood of Clover Bend, AR and Dora (Jeff) Martin of Gravette, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, and life long friends.
