Ms. Rebecca Diane Cary-Morgan

Rebecca Diane Moyers-Cary-Morgan, 70, passed away July 22, 2024 at the Blossoms of Newport. Born on February 8, 1954 in Hannibal Missouri to Joseph Sr and Barbara Bennett Moyers, she was the youngest of 10 children. She is survived by a sister, Yvonne Miller of Palmyra, MO, and one brother, Tom Moyers of Palmyra, MO; 6 step children and many grandchildren. Along with numerous niece’s, nephews and life long friends. Proceeding her in death was the loves of her life, Fred Cary, and her very special dog Odie; one step daughter Dora Freeman; her parents, Barbara and Joseph Sr; her brothers Joseph Jr, Charles, James, John, and Michael; two sisters Mary and Betty. Anyone who knew Becky knew that she was passionate about cooking, animals, children, and the elderly. Becky loved to travel and worked wherever she lived. She worked at Maple Lawn nursing home in Palmyra for years, as well as other nursing homes throughout her life. Once she moved to Arkansas, she became a nanny to 3 girls, and babysat for many of her grandchildren through the years. She was a CNA and also worked in hotel laundry services. As her love for travel was evident, she took off to Phoenix,Arizona for a time, and then she went to Florida for a few years. When she returned to Arkansas, she babysat for a while, but her health was declining. She got a dog to keep her company and named him Odie. Odie became Becky's world. You could not visit or call her without hearing about his latest shenanigans. She had him spoiled rotten, and fatter than a Butterball turkey. She treasured the locket her sister got her with Odie's picture, after his passing. Becky had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to be sarcastic all the time. She always wanted to sound grumpy, but those who knew her, knew she was a kind woman with a loving heart. Her favorites were Maxine, and Walter (Jeff Dunham). She had that exact same sense of humor. Her love for cooking was shown at every holiday, when she would invite the whole neighborhood over to enjoy her meals. She was well known for her lasagna, yeast rolls, and many cakes. In her spare time, she loved gardening, circle the word puzzles, dancing, and TV. Stephen King movies, E.T., ALF, and Naked and Afraid were a few of her favorites. Becky was one of a kind and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. There will be a private family memorial at a later date where she will be placed in her final resting place in Fredonia Cemetery next to Fred and with the remains of Odie.
