Mr. Ricky Paul Deeds

Ricky Paul Deeds of Manila passed away on March 29, 2025 at the age of 66. He was born on January 2, 1959 in Gardner, Kansas. Raised in Lost Cane, he graduated with the Manila Class of 1978. He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Tina Deeds; parents Ira Jr and Edith Deeds and brother Timmy Deeds. Ricky was a kind and loving man of great warmth, creativity and passion. His sense of joy was contagious and his love for his family and friends was unwavering. Wherever he went, Ricky brought his curiosity, tenacity, discipline, integrity and goofiness. He never met a stranger, always striking up a conversation with everyone around him. His silly light-heartedness was infectious, and he made every person he met feel like a beloved old friend. Ricky marched to the beat of his own drum, and he made us all laugh along the way. He had a successful career with Prospect Machine Inc as a driver for many years. He loved his wife and his son Chris like no other. Loosing Tina really took a toll on him. Ricky was a good man who loved unconditionally and stood by his family no matter what. He cherished his siblings also with an unbreakable bond that remains to this day. Mention Ricky’s grandchildren and his face would light up. He loved every minute he could spend with them. His love for his grandchildren left an imprint on each of them that will never fade. He enjoyed listening to good music, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and tinkering in his workshop whittling. Ricky's remarkable craftsmanship includes carved wooden guitars, a dollhouse, boats, planes and many other figurines. Ricky leaves behind his son Chris (Raimondina) Deeds of Manila, Arkanasas; three grandchildren Madysen Deeds, Jamysen Deeds and Gracelyn Deeds; one brother Larry (Ann) Deeds of Lepanto, Arkansas; three sisters Penny (Bobby) Tate of Manila, Arkansas, Patsy (Jeff) Wilson of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Gail Long of Manila, Arkansas; along with several nieces, nephews and life long friends. He will be deeply missed by all that loved and knew him. There will be a celebration of Ricky’s life on Friday April 4th at 4pm in Lost Cane at Little River Missionary Baptist Church.
