Ms. Shirley Ann Scoggins Mann

Shirley Ann Mann - Age 60, arrived at her heavenly home on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from the Manila Nursing Home. She was greeted by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Clarence Scoggins and JD and Glendola Minyard. Born and raised in Manila, after high school Shirley continued her education. She began her career in accounting with Montgomery Ward and later was blessed with the opportunity to be the bookkeeper for Hubbard & Hoke in Blytheville, Arkansas for many years. Shirley was an active member of Soul’s Harbor Church in Manila where she taught Sunday school for several years. If you knew her for even a second you knew she was the most caring, & loving woman you could ever meet. Shirley loved nothing more than to have a houseful of family & friends. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold. She loved and cared about everyone she met and would give you her last dollar if she thought you needed it more or her last bit of food if she thought you were hungry. She was an avid reader and loved to crochet. She leaves behind two daughters Jennifer Smith of El Dorado, Kansas and Kathleen Smith of Largo, Florida; two sisters Donnie Titsworth (Charles) of Russellville, Arkansas and Glenda Troxel (Tim) of Alpine, Arkansas; three brothers Jackie (Julie) Eddings and Paul (Sherry) Scoggins both of Manila, Arkansas and Rickie (Vonda) Scoggins of Leachville, Arkansas; two grandchildren Skyler Shirley of Manila, Arkansas and Jonathan Smith of El Dorado, Kansas along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Shirley’s Memorial will be Sunday October 14, 2018 at 2PM at Soul's Harbor Church located at 202 Concord Street in Manila with Pastor David Fair officiating. Below is Shirley's testimony (picture attached) that has been discovered in her belongings. 1-30-07 I'm a woman in need. = W.I.N. I have rededicated my life = FOR to God. I'm 100% disabled = GOD I'm homeless. I'm nearly 50 yrs. old and you are more than likely asking "How in the world did I become so pitiful?" I ask myself the same question at times. Did it start when I took my first drink? or when I got my DUI and lost my car? or when I took that pill my docot did not give me. Does the why really matter? God knows the why, and I need to know the why. By my knowing the why was the first step in my walk with God and his fixing me. Because I needed fixing. I was released from jail October 10 back into a society with nothing but what I had on. By December 11th when I got to the WFRM and admitted to God that he was the only one that was going to fix me, my life began to feel worth something, worth living.
