Ms. Chantel Marie Ann Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Chantel Marie Ann Smith, 27, of Somerville, Tenn., passed away on June 7, 2022 in Somerville. A celebration of her life will be held at First Baptist Church in Marmaduke, Ark., on Friday, June 17, at 5 p.m. Brother Kim Bridges of First Baptist Church in Marmaduke will be officiating. Chantel was born in Kennett, Mo., to Ronda Barnes and Michael Smith on Sept. 7, 1994. She attended Piggott High School in Piggott, Ark., where she graduated in 2013. Chantel made it clear who she was with a shining personality and smile that could capture the attention and spotlight of any room she entered. Through all of life’s adventures, one specific adventure was her favorite and proudest: Her journey into motherhood. On Oct. 4, 2016, Chantel was blessed with her wonderful daughter Novalee, who would go on to become the light of her world. She and Novalee were inseparable, a regular mother-daughter dynamic duo. Novalee captured Chantel’s heart in the same way Chantel captured the heart of her parents and family years before. Chantel is survived by her daughter, Novalee Smith, of Somerville, Tenn., mother, Ronda Barnes, of Piggott, Ark., father and stepmother, Michael and Debby Smith, of Bloomfield, Mo., older brother, Mathew Singleton, of Knoxville, Tenn., younger brother, Erich Smith, of Piggott, Ark., grandparents, Tony and Vicky Smith, of Rector, Ark., aunt, Danielle Montgomery and family, of Jonesboro, Ark., and uncle, Jacob Smith and family, of Rector, Ark. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone in the community who has donated and reached out during this period of grief, as well as First Baptist Church of Marmaduke, Ark., and Tri-City LLC Crematory of Manila, Ark. Remember, you’ll always be Novalee’s momma and best friend, the apple of your mother’s eye, your father’s “little grill,” and an annoying sister and best friend to Mat and Erich.
