March 31, 1951 - April 3, 2019
Timothy Lane Mullins died unexpectedly on April 3, 2019 at his home. Born on March 31, 1951 in Paragould, Arkansas to James and Patricia (Rogers) Mullins. Tim was a unique individual, smart, bold, opinionated, controversial, outgoing, wild, and yet a loner. Tim graduated in 1969 from Oak Grove High School, just a few miles from where he was raised, with many of his long-time elementary friends. He was on the basketball team and played very well. After graduating he married his high school sweetheart, Shaila Wood, the mother of his 3 beautiful 3 children. A few years later he joined the Navy and they lived in Maine. Unfortunately, this marriage ended in divorce. He returned to his birth area for a short time then left and worked construction jobs throughout various states. Later in his life he worked many years on a barge on the Mississippi River. After retirement he then returned to his birth town and helped his sister take care of their Mom with Alzheimers. Tim had a big heart that not many got to see. He would give the shirt off his back to the needy and would give someone in need money. Unfortunately, he struggled with his addiction of alcohol and it took away the best of him from those who loved him. Tim now rests in peace. 🙏❤️ Tim was preceded in death by his father James Mullins, sister Telissa Mullins Smith, grandson Nathan Swafford, and the love of his life Sharon Mullins. Tim is survived by his three children; Shalane (John) Slatton of Paragould, Arkansas, Genea (Tim) Tharp of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Seth (Lindy) Mullins Yeargain of Paragould, Arkansas; his mother Patricia Sue Mullins; two sisters Randi (Kelly) Foust and Christi (Alan) Foust all of Paragould, Arkansas; brother in law Chuck Smith of Marshall, Arkansas; sister/cousin Mikki Tarkington of Brookland, Arkansas; grandchildren Lee Swafford, Skylar Swafford, Sean Tharp “our professor” and Issac Tharp our “little guy”; great grandson Kason Shaw; nieces Christal Smith Tharp of Gillett, Pennsylvania and Sonya Foust Pinion and Natalie Foust Brewer both of Paragould, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers Tim’s family ask that you hug your children, tell them how much you love them and tell them how proud you are of them. Sit down together as a family for dinner, say grace and share a meal. Tri-City LLC Crematory Funeral Home is honored and privileged to serve the Mullins family.
